Organon and Schneider Electric: A Step Towards Sustainability
Cuenca, December 16, 2025 – Organon has signed a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) with Schneider Electric, aimed at launching solar photovoltaic plants in the Cuenca region, which will drive their commitment to renewable energy in European factories.
The agreement will enable Organon to procure clean energy, thereby optimizing their environmental impact. The planned installations are expected to reach a total capacity of 100 MW. The expected efficiency of solar panels is around 20%, maximizing the conversion of solar irradiation into electricity.
This project is estimated to provide a favorable Return on Investment (ROI), considering the rising costs of conventional electricity and the benefits associated with environmental sustainability and corporate image.
This effort is part of Organon's global strategy to reduce its carbon footprint, aligning with current trends toward a greener and more sustainable economy. Furthermore, the strategic location of the plants in Cuenca provides optimal access to solar resources, maximizing energy production.
[Conclusion on environmental impact and savings] The implementation of this renewable technology will not only ensure a supply of clean energy for Organon, but will also contribute to the economic development of the region, creating jobs and promoting the energy transition towards more sustainable models.
