Organon Signs VPPA for Solar Plants in Cuenca

Cuenca, December 16, 2025 – Organon, in partnership with Schneider Electric, has formalized its first Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) in a significant stride toward energy transition. This agreement is designed to launch several photovoltaic solar plants in Cuenca, aligning with its sustainability and carbon reduction goals for its European facilities.

The plants are set to have a capacity of several megawatts (MW), with specific details pending confirmation, although a total capacity of up to 50 MW is estimated. The efficiency of the plants is expected to align with industry best practices, exceeding 20% efficiency in converting solar energy to electricity.

The investment promises to generate favorable ROI with substantial long-term energy cost savings, allowing Organon to reduce its carbon footprint and ensure sustainable production.

The deployment of these facilities will not only support renewable energy generation but also boost the local economy and create jobs in the renewable energy sector. With this partnership, both Organon and Schneider Electric reinforce their commitment to a more sustainable and energy-resilient future.
